One little boy in Australia was heartbroken when he learned his birthday present, a cute little puppy, had been stolen.
When Sharnee Pocock, of Lara, in Geelong, Australia, came home on Oct. 14, she couldn’t find her 3-month-old American Staffordshire terrier named Jacky Boy. The pup was a birthday present for her son, Noah.
Needless to say, the 5-year-old boy was upset to learn of the news.
“He’s hurting, he gets into bed every night and says, ‘I wonder where Jacky Boy is, I wonder if he’s cold,” the single mom told Geelong Broadcasters. “He’s a really smart little boy and even though he’s five years old, he does notice.”
Though the family checked the CCTV footage, they had no idea how the dog went missing.
In an attempt to get the dog back, Pocock offered a US$4,000 reward, which she posted on her Facebook page.
“I’m not a rich person, it’s not like we have this kind of money but I will give (it) up,” she said. “He’s not just a dog to us, he’s family. My son is so attached to this dog, he’s so upset that he’s gone.”
Days later, Pocock was informed that Jacky had been found.
“It has seemed he was stolen from our backyard and then just dumped,” Pocock told Yahoo Entertainment.
“A lovely man found him on Elcho Road, and took him home for the night. It turns out that he works at a quarry where my dad delivers fuel to in Moriac, so we went and got him from there.”
When the dog finally returned home, Noah couldn’t contain his excitement to have his furry pet back by his side.
Pocock managed to capture their heartwarming reunion on video and upload it to her Facebook page.
“We’re just so grateful to have our boy home,” she said.
