A Texas family is continuing a tradition of fun-loving pregnancy announcements with a recent photo shoot on Facebook. In hilarious fashion, each family member dons an inflatable T-rex costume for a Jurassic-themed portrait to tell the world that a new “hatchling” is on the way.
The dino family, Nicole and Daniel Berkley, along with kids, Myleigh, 10, Montana, 6, Lane, 5, and Hannah, 4, stand in front of their brand-new egg, with a sign that says, “Hatching in April.” Another photo shows Mom and Dad proudly holding up their ultrasound image.
“It’s our fifth baby, so I think we’re past the cutesy photos,” Nicole told Good Morning America. “We wanted something that was going to be really cute and really funny and fits our personalities, so this was perfect.”
Several other photos show the family without the dino getup but looking just as lively.
The fantastic, themed images were executed by local photography studio Susan Garret Photography, which helped the family continue the tradition.
This is the first dino-themed shoot, though—the previous announcements followed a “cutesy” theme. But it’s clear they went all out to get the most chuckles possible this go round.

The reveal also marks a silver lining—this one being a rainbow pregnancy. Nicole had had a miscarriage back in February.
“I was so nervous … because it’s hard to get excited, especially after a miscarriage,” Nicole added. “Once I went to the doctor, saw the first ultrasound, heard the heartbeat, we were thrilled. Everything’s going great.”
Next on the Berkley agenda is a dino-themed gender reveal. How better to welcome a new day (and a new dino) than with a little fun and a good laugh!
